Use a strong password unique to that exchange. Personally I prefer using aliases with Protonmail. Preferably use a separate email for interacting with exchanges, which minimises the chances of the email being leaked. Make sure you keep back-ups on separate devices and write down the recovery phrases. Software based 2FA (such as Google Authenticator) or hardware based 2FA (such as YubiKey) is safer.
